-noun
"an aquatic game played by two teams of seven swimmers each, the object being to score goals by pushing, carrying, or passing an inflated ball and tossing it into the opponent's goal, defended by a goal keeper." ( http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/water+polo )
Yeah that's right water polo. However, I have to add something to this definition.
From past experiences (just 1 season, I'm a beginner) the only thing that I'm thinking about is "What can I do to make sure my opponent doesn't drown me?"
Water polo is VERY aggressive! People will put you in chokeholds and wrap there legs around you and use their own body weight to practically drown you. Others will kick, grab, and scratch you but if they leave a mark you can get a "nail check" and the player will be removed from the game to check it out.
And one more thing, most of this happens underwater and the ref doesn't even see it.....great.
Although its rough, it is great exercise and a very fun (yet aggresive) game to play!
